Renovation Crew? Here Is How To Get Clients Every Month
You already have the craft, but your best work stays behind a closed door. Here are two things that get it out where clients can see it.

You handed the job over. The client is happy, they thanked you and closed the door.
The next day you are back in the same place: staring at your phone, waiting for it to ring.
Some months you have three jobs at once. Other months you wait the whole month out. And it has been like this for years.
In the next 3 minutes I will show you where your strongest advertising disappears, and the two things you can fix this week.
Your Best Work Stays Behind A Closed Door
Think about one thing: where is your best work right now, this minute?
It is inside somebody's flat, and the door is shut. That bathroom you spent three weeks on will be seen by maybe five people.
Meanwhile the crew with half your experience posts three photos on Facebook every week. Their work is out where people can see it. Yours is behind a closed door.
The client does not see your craft. They only see what made it outside.
You might ask why you should spend time on photos when your quality is better anyway. Because nobody believes quality until they see it. Until then quality is just a word, and every competitor says the same word.
1. Photograph Every Job Before The Furniture Arrives
You do not need a photographer or expensive gear. A phone and two minutes will do.
There is one rule: two shots on every job. One on the first day, before you touch anything, and one on handover day, before the furniture comes in.
One small detail changes everything: take both shots from exactly the same spot. That is what makes the difference visible. Two photos from different angles are just two photos.
And where do they go? Three places: your Google Business Profile, your Facebook page, and a separate album on your phone so you can show it in one swipe at a meeting (and never scroll through three years of gallery again to find that one photo).
In three months you will have ten of these pairs. That is a portfolio, and it speaks for you while you are on site and cannot pick up the phone.
2. Ask For The Referral On Handover Day
Half of this trade runs on referrals, and almost nobody asks for one directly. Everybody waits for it to happen by itself.
There is exactly one day when satisfaction peaks: handover day, when the client walks into the room for the first time and sees what they had pictured. Two weeks later that feeling has cooled. A month later it is just their flat.
Handover day is your only day. A week later the same request is already too late.
So on that same day, before you leave, ask two things. First: "If you are happy with it, would you write me a review on Google? I will send you the link right now." Second: "If someone you know needs a renovation, pass on my number."
The whole difference sits in those last words: you send the link on the spot. "I will write it later" means "I will never write it," and not because they are a bad person, but because tomorrow they will have something else to deal with.
Treat this as part of the job, the same way you treat the final clean up. A crew that does it on every single job collects close to thirty reviews a year. Those reviews are exactly what pulls you up in Google Maps when somebody in the neighbourhood asks "does anyone know a good crew?"
Conclusion
Your problem is not your craft. You already have the craft.
The problem is that your work goes invisible the moment you hand it over, so every month you start the search from zero.
Both of the things above take a week to set up, and neither one costs you money: two shots on every job, and two questions on handover day.
A finished job either just ends, or it brings you the next three. That part is up to you.
